WALKS in and around La Garde Freinet. Hiking

If you like to walk and explore the beautiful surrounding hills of La Garde Freinet, there are several self guided walks, ranging in distance from a couple of miles to 10 miles or more. Click here for more information on these hikes and other activities. Tourist Office.

WALK No1

La Garde Freinet - La Croix-

Le Fort and back.

3 miles circular route.

Relatively easy with a bit of a climb. Fantastic views.

WALK No2

Saint Clement

4.5 miles

Lovely shady lanes, winding roads, meadows and vineyards. Relatively flat.

Notre Dame de Miremer

5.25miles

Out and back, with a bit of a climb back to LGF. You can relax and enjoy the views, peace and quiet at the little Chappelle de Miremer.

WALK No 4

Peygros

4.25 miles

A fairly steep, half-mile climb, up to the TV mast.

Les Roches Blanches

6 miles

A fairly strenuous hike, with fantastic views.

Les Hameaux du Sud

8.5 miles

A long walk, taking you to two little hamlets.

La Mourre

6.5miles

A good hike with a lot of variety. You pass through L'Hameau de la Mourre, which is worth visiting.

Hameaux de L'est

6.0 miles

Drive 3m to the start of this pretty hike.

WALK No 9

Pont Romain

10 miles

A good long loop, but with a long stretch on RN558. A very interesting landscape in the valley, with umbrella pines and pink rocks. (Might be better to hike out and back to the Pont Romain on the East side of the RN588)
